Sophie James is here! You saw Sophie's home for nine months in mommy's gorgeous belly and now we get to see sweet Sophie!
Newborn photographs are best taken within the first two weeks of life. Here is Sophie @ only four days old.

My 1st Maternity Shoot

Today, I had the chance to shoot pictures of Sara James, who is 37wks pregnant. It was my first maternity session and I was very nervous, but I am thrilled at how the pictures are coming out.

Molly's Party

Okay... so these aren't typical birthay party pictures.


Today, my four-year-old attended a party for his friend, Molly. While the kids were entertained, I seized the opportunity to explore my friend's property and play with my camera. Here are a few treasures I found during my adventure.

Spring is almost here!!

It's hard to believe that just a few short days ago the ground was covered in 8 inches of snow! Today, the temperature was nearly 80 and I'm seeing daffodils in bloom... so exciting!

Winter walk

Today my little guy and I went on a walk to check out the scenery left behind from yesterday's snowstorm.

I was hoping for spring, but the groundhog saw his shadow this year and we were subjected to six more weeks of winter.

Downtown

On my way to the libray, in downtown Fredericksburg, today, I snapped a few pictures.

The Tiny Pianist

This is a picture of an 8-month-old baby boy's hand that I caught reaching over his mother's shoulder to touch the piano keys, while she was completely distracted in converation. It was adorable, so I thought I'd share it with all of you.

After being in winter hibernation, we jumped at the chance to enjoy the park when mother nature blessed us today with a warm afternoon. Anyone who lives in the area knows this is a rare treat in February. The kids had a blast! Here is a picture of the girls jump-roping down a path to the river.



This reminds me of a rhyme I used to say as a girl:

Jeff Greer

Our friend, Jeff Greer, visited today from Seattle. I took a few pictures at a small reunion of friends and Jeff's unique style made his pictures fun to play with. I realized that I really enjoy the artsy side of photography and although, these pictures weren't planned that way, I'd love to plan and shoot an artsy session -- possibly a band cover. I think that would be so much fun! If you know anyone who needs a cover shot, send them my way :-)
